Outward bound and on our way to the Church of St. Vincent De Paul, Altrincham (Shrewsbury Diocese) on our first Community trip, with a few friends and parishioners.
The outward journey was quite uneventful, apart from a slight delay caused by lane closures following an accident on the motorway. We arrived in good time and after a few short introductions, joined the congregation for the celebration of Mass under the ‘Traditional Roman Rite’, the Latin ‘Low’ Mass. Surely a ‘blast from the past’ for many of us. This was then followed by a gathering in the parish hall for tea and biscuits and more introductions with like minded people.
We thank all who joined us on this visit and thank the many new friends who welcomed us at St. Vincent’s making our visit that much more pleasurable.
An old black & white photo of a May procession in the church grounds. It dates from the 1940's. Anybody you might know, or were you there?
